Well, first I didn't know how to make the vodka until about a week ago when you mentioned something about how you weren't able to find anything decent in the area.
Second, I still don't know how to make anything besides straight vodka. So, as much as I'm attempting to ask you on a date, I'm also hoping you'll let me get you drunk.
Well, it started as learning to make vodka, turned into learning how not to poison myself or cause a minor (or major) explosion as I played with ways to speed up the process, and then doubled back into the original intent once the other things got worked out.
But you were the reason for all of it.
Is there a chance I can persuade you into bringing food if you come? I've eaten but I can't say that I'm sure there's much for anyone else around here besides toast.
True, true. I also think I have absolutely fantastic taste.
I know that diner! They're open all night, have the kind of coffee that can wake the dead, and I would commit felonies for some of their waffles. Or pancakes. Or french toast. No breakfast is unwelcome with me.
I will absolutely do that. I'm absolutely terrible at cooking, funny enough. Time and I have an avoidant and antagonistic relationship.
I lose track of it for as long as it takes me to do a thing and then it's four hours later and my food has gone completely cold, or set wrong, or whatever other thing happened, but I will have probably finished the book I was reading.
Would it be terrible of me to put in a request for hot chocolate? It's my usual choice to mix with my alcohol when the weather cooperates.
This is very good to know. Also, I'll go ahead and keep an ear out for you. Feel free to come in if I don't answer on the first knock. I'll be sure to leave the door unlocked, just in case.
As for books, it depends on the mood. I'm happy to read both fiction and non-fiction and I'm not too picky on length or even genre/subject matter. Novels are my go to, but I do collections of shorter stories and essays every so often. Plays and poetry aren't my favorite things to read by myself but that's more because I like going to see performances rather than reading the text. Especially with poetry, listening to it is actually the only way I have half a chance of understanding it.
My exception to that rule is that I'll read a script before I see a production if I have absolutely no idea what I'm in for.
This got longer than I thought, so I'm going to stop and can elaborate more when you get here. Well, if you're still interested.
[About 15 minutes later Sigyn knocks at Loki's door, waiting patiently for a response. She will go in if she doesn't hear anything after a second knock, though.]
[ She's just gotten out of the shower when Sigyn knocks. This is both very exciting and leaves her a little nervous, as Loki was hoping to look less disheveled when she arrived. She's hoping they've been together long enough that it won't be too bad.
Even still, she takes a couple of minutes to put herself together. She had hoped she could dry her her hair out and get it braided, but it's long enough at this point that it was a lost cause. ]
Just a second!
[ She really is hoping Sigyn doesn't need help to bring everything in, or at least that if she does, Loki hasn't missed the chance to offer to grab things. ]
Sorry about that. My timing wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped.

Science and alcohol? You sure do know the way to a girl's heart.

Plus, it gave me an excuse to learn a few new things,. Which is a quick way to my heart.

For educational purposes.

Lucky for you I like straight vodka, so I guess I'll have to come over and test your work. For educational purposes. Obviously.

You're providing booze, I can for sure bring food. For both of us. What do you want?

Anything but toast. Protein is probably ideal but I'm also opening the door to anyone who brings something sweet.
(And yes, I am extremely easy to bribe on occasion.)

Protein and sweet? Sounds like a good excuse to have breakfast for dinner. There's a diner on the way between our places, I'll stop there.

I'll get a spread and surprise you. Anything of theirs you aren't a fan of?

As long as it's not burnt to the point of no longer being food, I'll eat it.

Putting the order in to pick up on my way over. Want anything to drink? Other than your amazing homemade vodka, that is.

Order in, heading out now.
What kind of books do you get lost in?
